SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- A high-level forum was held in San Francisco, U.S. state of California, on Monday to share the best practices for accelerating the adoption of innovative policies and technologies to decarbonize the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies.
"We must take quick and smart actions to decarbonize economy across all sectors including power, transportation, building, cement and steel industry and several more," says Wang Qi, chairman of the U.S.-China Green Energy Council.
The 2022 International Green Energy Summit（aka. The 14th China-US Green Energy Summit） was successfully held on Dec. 2nd-4th, 2022. The theme of this high-level international conference was “Opportunities and Challenges on the Road to Carbon Neutrality”. Facing with the urgency of tackling the climate crisis, world’s top-tier scientists and energy leaders from US, China, and Europe gathered together, to discuss ideas, methods and paths for achieving carbon neutrality, and to promote international cooperation.
Dr. Robert E Larson, founding president of the US-China Green Energy Council (UCGEC) and former president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), passed away peacefully at his home in California on Mar.10th 2022. He was 83.
U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry and China Special Envoy for Climate Change Xie Zhenhua met in Shanghai on April 15 and 16, 2021, to discuss aspects of the climate crisis. At the conclusion of the discussion, the two Special Envoys released the following:

Mr. Robert Wu, Founder and Chairman of US-China Green Energy Council (aka.,UCGEC), Founder of China's first generation of electronics and information technology, peacefully passed away at age of 88, at his residence in Los Altos, California on September 18th, 2020.
On October 28, 2019, Dr. Steven Chu, the Nobel Laureate in physics and former US energy secretary, led a delegation from UCGEC to visit the China Association of science and technology. Wan Gang, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and chairman of the China Association for science and technology, met with the visiting delegation at the China Science and technology hall.
On October 28, 2019, Dr. Steven Chu, the Nobel Prize winner in physics and former US energy secretary, led a delegation of the UCGEC to visit the Institute of climate change and sustainable development of Tsinghua University. Xie Zhenhua, special representative for China's climate change affairs and President of the Institute of climate change and sustainable development of Tsinghua University, met with the delegation cordially.
On October 27-28, the 2019 International Clean Energy Conference was held in Beijing. With the theme of "clean, low-carbon and energy innovation", the conference aimed to lead clean energy reform and technological innovation and build an international exchange and cooperation platform. More than 500 government officials, Nobel laureates, Chinese and foreign academicians, experts and scholars, scientific researchers from the field of international clean energy, and leaders from power, smart city, renewable energy, smart transportation, information technology, energy Internet, energy investment and other industries attended the meeting. The meeting focused on cutting-edge technology, gathered global wisdom, integrated energy innovation thinking, and made suggestions for coping with global climate change, seizing new opportunities for green development, and promoting win-win international cooperation.
